"Forget It." For the record, this song was co-written by Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins fame. Hell, he even plays the guitar on the track. This is one of the best straight-up rock songs I've heard in a very, very long time. It fills me with extreme emotion and that's before Burnley even begins to sing. The song's lyrics, seemingly about lost love, will fill any listener with emotion. After the first verse, Burnley repeats "forget it" numerous times with a melancholy guitar riff running behind his soft vocals, allowing you to soak up all of what he said. The song is both masterfully written and extremely sad. Plus it's not only the best track on We Are Not Alone, but it easily the most powerful track, hands down, Breaking Benjamin has ever written. And when you end a song's final verse with "never mind, forget it, just a memory on a page inside a spiral notebook," before entering the song's final chorus, which soars… you'll certainly feel the emotion I felt when first listening to that track.
